Strategic Planning
“A goal without a plan is just a wish.”
― Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
Vision Consulting LLC is a full-service consulting firm located in the heart of Washington D.C. and dedicated to helping government and non-profit organizations realize their maximum potential. It’s founder, Celeste Garcia, began the organization in 2004 following years of top-shelf training and experience, including a Harvard education and over 10 years of experience at PricewaterhouseCoopers. She now focuses her expertise on helping organizations improve their strategies, structure, and people.
Why Do We Need A Strategic Plan?
Before an organization can succeed, it needs to have a clear picture of what success looks like. Too often, because there is only a fuzzy and disjointed idea of what the end goal should be, there are only fuzzy and scattered attempts to achieve it – and as a result, the organization expends a lot of energy, but doesn’t gain much ground.
A strategic plan sets forth goals that are specific, measurable, realistic, and able to be broken down into concrete action steps. It helps ensure that everyone on your team is pulling in the same direction and that every decision is contributing to the organization’s long-term success.
How Can Vision Consulting Help Us?
Many organizations think they have a strategic plan when all they really have is a loosely-defined wish for a brighter future. Vision Consulting helps organizations assess what their values really are, what success looks like, and what assets and challenges need to be factored into the plan. We then help you take your goal and figure out how to break it down into concrete action steps along a realistic timeline to keep you on track. Some of the things we focus on include:
- Strategic planning
- Performance measures
- Change management
What Is Your Approach
We believe in a collaborative approach to strategic planning, wherein we involve as many people in the organization as possible as opposed to just consulting with the CEO or the senior members of leadership. We’ve found from experience that it’s important to make sure people feel heard and are invested in the process so that the organization’s strategic plan becomes their strategic plan and is something that they are ready, willing, and able to claim ownership of and invest their energy in pursuing.
