Nonprofits have a unique need to leverage their resources to gain the maximum impact from their funders’ dollars while also working with a largely-volunteer staff. At the same time, however, unlike their for-profit counterparts, their leadership are usually men and woman with training and experience in a non-business field, such as religion or social work. This combination means that many can especially benefit from the evaluation and input of an outside organization.
